Lutheran Church Charities (LCC) helps support Christian human care ministries of the Church working throughout the United States and internationally to bring the mercy, compassion, presence and proclamation of Jesus Christ to those suffering and in need. One of their ministry programs supported by LCS is their K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry which began in 2008 with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Two LCC comfort dogs are currently assigned to New England, one in Danbury, Conn. and one in Newtown, Conn.
