Rev. Mark D. Kleckner
Mark Dean Kleckner was born and raised in Iowa. He attended St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota, majoring in Political Science and minoring in Asian Studies. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in 1976, he studied law at Stanford University, Palo Alto, California. He received a Juris Doctor from Stanford in 1979. From 1979 through 1987, he practiced law in Des Moines, Iowa. Mark received his theological education at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, where he received a Master of Divinity in 1992 and a Master of Sacred Theology in 1998. Mark was ordained into the Office of the Holy Ministry in The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod on August 29, 1993, at his first congregation, Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edgerton, Ohio. In late 2000, Pastor Mark was called to be pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, Riverside, California, where he served until called to be senior pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Brainerd, Minnesota in 2004. He served Zion, Brainerd, until August 2011, when he returned to the seminary to take classes toward a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology. In July 2014, Pastor Mark received the divine call to be pastor of Lutheran Church of the Savior and was formally installed as such on Sunday, September 14, 2014. Pastor Mark and his wife, Kimberly have two adult children - son Noah, 27 and daughter Kyria, 22.
Organist/Pianist/Worship Band Leader
Gina has been a church musician for over 20 years. She received a bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies and graduated cum laude from the University of Lowell in Massachusetts. She was pianist, organist and choir director for 10 years before coming to LCS. Gina accompanies our traditional worship service on both piano and organ. She and her husband, Dan, lead the worship band at LCS for our contemporary service. She provides worshipful music each week by the power of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God through Jesus our Savior.
